respect.
Wednesday, October 21, 2009, 9:34 PM

I've been learning sociology and it seems like there are no values in the world that crosses borders of different cultures. The middle finger in the United States is an insult, yet it does not mean anything in many other cultures. Sociologists have gone as far as to say that a 'smile' is not universal.

But one thing is for certain, across cultures, many respect their dead. Either by setting up a tomb or by burning incense. Their way of respect may differ but no one would STEAL an urn. How could one think of committing such a crime. Do they not fear God?

The Egyptian gravediggers purposefully looked for hidden pyramids with treasures within. As in the our ole' good friend King Tut's grave.
That was still a good 60-90years ago, I would presume... (I'm too lazy to do the research right now.. haha) But today, it's not like people have treasures in their urns. But why steal?

Choi Jin-Sil, a famous Korean actress committed suicide a few months ago due to her personal reasons(...Rest In Peace). An immoral fan, however, stole her urn from her grave... Is that acceptable? Or no?

VISIT :)

the link above, is the REAL friend? to my perception. she constantly visits my other blog and comments on every post that i make sporadically. so, i got the assignment for AP Literature and i thought... i'm going to visit her blog! then guess what i see, a post about Jaebum. it seems like i share more interests with my online friend than real friends at my school. because they hate it when i even mention KPOP overall. are online friends true friends or... real life friends real friend HAHA? but its not really a laugh... why do i share more interests with an online friend...

Well, like I've told you guys before, Jaebum, the leader of 2pm left the group because of intense protests from the netizens. Unfortunately, after he left, some of the fans of 2pm were devastated and decided that... if they dance all together, maybe, just maybe, Jaebum will come back. And that's exactly what they did... in front of COEX (Korea's biggest mall) in Seoul. Check out their moves. and think about this, "what if the leader of the group that you liked left? what would you do? would it be as extreme as this or no?"

the OFFICE returns
Sunday, September 20, 2009, 6:36 PM

YES! You've heard me right, the 6th season has finally been released! It already has three episodes. I longed for the return of the show for a LONG LONG TIME. I missed Michael's lame 'Yo mama' jokes to the awkwardness between Dwight and Jim. So far in the 6th season though, my favorite character changed. It used to be Dwight because he was so self-confident and knew about every random thing possible. But the first episode of the Office 3rd season changed everything. Creed. The cynical old man is my new favorite character. His random comment that he threw out in the first episode was HILARIOUS.

"What's the point of all this [work], if you can't go scuba diving?"

I don't know if it is my fascination with scuba diving but that one quote turned Creed into my favorite character.

START WATCHING THE SHOW, after apps :)

would you like an iPhone for free?
Friday, September 18, 2009, 10:03 PM

For all you iPhone fans out there, this might be a shock. iPhone's FREE for everybody in Japan!! Why? Because it sucks. Yes, yes. It might be one of the best in the States. But the Japanese telecommunication comapnies have claimed that iPhone has fallen behind in technology compared to many of the Japanese phones that have been released so far. All the 'newest' technology that Apple claims to have innovated, such as playing videos, downloading music, and touch pads, is falling behind those of Japanese's.

So they are giving out 8GB iPhones for free... And selling the 16GB iPhones for around $116.

During April, its coming to Korea, and with all the competition from Samsung, LG, and other phone companies in Korea who have already launched many touchpad phones, I'm wondering if they will make any profit from selling iPhones in Korea.

Third Cultured Kids - tck?
9:58 PM

well, as a TCK myself, I feel like I can understand Jaebum... but was it really right for him to do something like that? maybe you aren't as familiar with Jaebum but you've heard of wondergirls? they are currently going around with the Jonas Brothers performing :) take a look at Jaebum (2pm) performing, they are from the same entertainment as the wondergirls.

here's the controversy tho. Jaebum said, "I hate Korea, Korea is gay." or something along those lines. in addition to, "I suck at rapping but the people here think i'm good that's dope."

it was definitely wrong for him to say that. as a third cultured kid, i'm just guessing that he had some problems when he first arrived in korea and started to practice for performances. at first, korea seemed like a foreign place and everyone here followed different norms... that's what he said 4 years ago.

unfortunately for him, some stalker fan dug up this post and posted on the net. and you know how korea is, soon the whole nation knew it and the situation got out of hand. jaebum apologized alongside jypentertainment. but after 4days of protest, jaebum quit 2pm and he left korea.

4years of practice was gone within 4days.

what do you guys think of this controversy? jaebum just seemed to me had a hard time adjusting because he as a third culture kid... yet it wasn't right for him to say the statements that he said... what's right and what's wrong? should he come back to korea? or should he not be allowed?

speak...
